I really should post something marketing/strategy related sometime soon… To be honest, despite the fact that two of my good friends (and someone who gives me work and may read this, so apologies now!) often spend their Twitter time posting various insightful management phrases or titbits that are supposed to rev you up and make a positive contribution on your day, I don’t subscribe [...] 1. I don’t want to know if you’re eating. Or what you’re eating. Or if you’re having the same coffee you had yesterday. And for god’s sake, your mating prowess is not for the public domain either. Trying saying that with a mouthful of marbles. And its probably going to be less than ten but I put that in to make more of a tongue-twister. This list did appear on Twitter before but I’ve looked at all the sites and reviewed them in a bit more detail. Okay, I’m trying to figure this out. There is probably a really senisble explanation for this but I can’t for the life of me work out what it is. And if there isn’t a sensible explanation, then all I can say is ‘what the hell are they doing?’ B&T or BandT depending on how lazy your [...] One of the first rules of marketing is USP. Unique Selling Point. If you don’t have one, you better hope business is good so you can ride of the coat-tails of someone else’s good fortune. This is an interesting concept that came out of an interview I watched with Andrew Keen in which is indicates his believe that ‘Web 2.0 is fucked’. His words, not mine. Evan Williams, co-founder of Twitter (if you’re not on it, WHAT are you doing??), recently gave his opinion on success in creating new business – do something awesome. Full quote looks like this: TechCrunch is an industry website I subscribe to every day and sends through updates on new technology, websites and assorted other geeky stuff like that. It’s amazing the other stuff I have found on there and its really my main source of what’s happening in the world. Here is Geewa.
